Atlas Shrugged

The census claim on the US edition is confirmed: Random House, New York, 10 October 1957, first-issue jacket bearing "10/57" at the front flap. Rand wrote in English, so there is no original-language question and no first-thus translation trap. The census note's further claim of a "UK edition 1958" is NOT established — the sources consulted did not confirm a British publisher or year for Atlas Shrugged (Cassell of London published other Rand titles, including Anthem, but no Cassell Atlas Shrugged was located). No UK claim is made here pending confirmation. The American Random House printing is the only edition collected as the first.
