Not for free. Goodwill Industries of New Mexico takes book donations as drop-offs at its staffed stores; its home pickup runs through a separate fee-based partner service, ReSupply (check goodwillnm.org for current terms). Savers, Friends of the Albuquerque Public Library, and Better World Books drop boxes are drop-off only — no in-home pickup service for books.
Habitat for Humanity ReStore Albuquerque collects furniture and building materials; its published donation guidelines list books among the items it can't take.
The free in-home book pickup option in Albuquerque is NMLP:
- Free pickup across Albuquerque metro, Rio Rancho, Corrales, Bernalillo, Placitas, East Mountains, Los Lunas, Belén
- Scheduled by route; the 24/7 drop box is immediate
- Any quantity from one box to a full estate library
- Any condition (water-damaged, moldy, encyclopedias, magazines, VHS, vinyl all accepted)
- I bring the hand truck and load the boxes — you don't lift
- No tax receipt (NMLP is for-profit, not a 501(c)(3))
